If you travel to the island of Delos in Greece, you might be surprised to visit ruins dominated by statues of gigantic stone penises. Even in its ancient, mythological context, it's jarring to see such a disembodied representation of the human form. Women, of course, are perhaps a bit more accustomed than men to being reduced to a collection of body parts.
