iRest was developed by Richard over the last 35 years based on the ancient tantric yoga healing practices of Yoga Nidra, which incorporates meditation, body and breath sensing, welcoming emotions, cognition and joy, and learning to rest in and as the deep healing of pure being. iRest integrates ancient teachings with modern understandings based on evidence-based research that reveals the efficacy of iRest with sleep disorders, PTSD, chemical dependency, chronic pain and increased well-being, with diverse populations such as active duty military and veterans, the homeless, children and college students. Richard will present iRest Yoga Nidra and its relationship to modern western psychological principles and ancient practices of meditation, as well as to clinical work with groups and individuals.
